Sony Ericsson expands premium phones portfolio with Xperia X1

Sony Ericsson has recently announced the entry of its premium mobile phone sub-brand, Xperia X1, in India. A Sony Ericsson innovation, the Xperia X1 has been conceptualised to address the rising need for a premium segment phone of superior quality. The phone will be available in select markets priced at Rs 44,500.

Speaking at the launch, Anil Sethi, President, Sony Ericsson India, said, “Xperia X1 represents our vision for a premium, energised communication experience. This launch further strengthens the overall Sony Ericsson brand and places us at the forefront of mobile convergence.”

He added, “Our vision for the Xperia X1 is to deliver a seamless blend of mobile Web communication and multimedia entertainment with a distinctive design. The world of our consumers and customers is changing. To meet the growing need for mobile Web communication and multimedia entertainment, Sony Ericsson has introduced a new category called Xperia.”

Designed to meet consumers’ needs for a converged entertainment and mobile web communication experience, the Xperia X1 is supported by a powerful panel multimedia ecosystem,” said Sudhin Mathur, General Manager, Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications.

Users can access content quickly and directly through the touch screen, easily switching between applications by touching one of the unique customisable panels. With Windows Mobile, the highest data transfer rate (HSDPA/HSUPA) and Wi-Fi support, you can enjoy your favourite entertainment and work efficiently on the move.”
