Star Network’s Kannada general entertainment channel Suvarna TV is strengthening its fiction line-up with two new shows – ‘Cheluvi’ and ‘Pallavi Anupallavi’.
‘Cheluvi’ went on air at 6 pm on June 25, 2012. The series will be aired Monday to Friday. ‘Pallavi Anupallavi’ goes on air from July 2 at 6.30 pm and will be telecast from Monday to Friday.
On launching two new shows back to back, Anup Chandrashekaran, Business Head, Suvarna TV, said, “We at Suvarna ensure that every fiction show has a strong story plot and an engaging screenplay. We have strategically planned to launch these shows in early prime time as we intend to increase our loyal viewer base in the 6-7 pm band.”
The channel’s content team has worked closely with the production houses of both the shows to have the right star cast in place. According to Anil Narang, Head of Marketing & Strategy, Suvarna TV, the two new shows will bring a refreshing change to the early prime time slot in the Kannada general entertainment space. The initial responses to the promos of the shows and the concept had been very positive and encouraging, he added.
Cheluvi is the story of a young girl who marries a man who works for the Indian Army and hails from a politically dominant family. The challenges that the protagonist faces after her marriage and the twists and turns that change her life form the main crux of the story. Karthik CS, the director of ‘Cheluvi’, said, “It is a unique story of a poor and innocent girl, which involves a lot of emotions and talks about Indian values. The show has been shot in a village backdrop and hence has a rural feel.”
On the other hand, ‘Pallavi Anupallavi’, is the story about how fate gives an opportunity to the protagonist to get back his long lost love. Madhusudhan, the director of the show, said, “It is the story of a millionaire businessman and depicts how fate gives him an opportunity to get back his love. The story is based in a metro city, yet showcases Indian values.”
‘Cheluvi’ and ‘Pallavi Anupallavi’ join other popular shows on Suvarna TV, which include ‘Krishna Rukmini’, ‘Preetyindha’, ‘Amruthavarshini’, ‘Chukki’ and ‘Pancharangi Pom Pom’.
