Strengthening their position in the YEC space, UTV Bindass recently appointed Heather Gupta at a key position to take over the role of Channel Head for UTV Bindass and UTV Bindass Movies. This announcement reinforces the company’s focus to strengthen its strategic team and highlight its positioning as the first 3600 Entertainment Brand for Indian Youth.

Confirming the development, Zarina Mehta, CEO, Bindass, said, “We are delighted to announce that Heather Gupta, currently Group VP, HRD, for the UTV Group, will now take on an additional role as Channel Head for Brand Bindass, including Bindass and Bindass Movies. I wish Heather every success in her new role and am sure that her tremendous passion, energy and substantial experience will take Bindass from strength to strength.”

In her new role, Gupta would be overseeing all activities for the brand with a focus on marketing, including TV, movies, events, web and mobile, and includes planning and strategising for taking the brand forward.

She has over 16 years’ experience, including 12 years in marketing and advertising. Gupta had joined P&G in 1992 as a graduate trainee, before moving on to advertising with stints at McCann Erickson and JWT in London, looking after a wide range of global blue chip clients before moving to Thailand in 2001 to head the Unilever Asia Foods business with JWT Bangkok. She then moved to India to set up Unilever’s regional detergent team at Lintas before taking on the role of HR Head for Lintas in 2005. She is keen to now expand her areas of responsibility within the company and build on the skills she developed throughout her career. Having built a strong and effective HR team at UTV, she is perfectly placed to take on this additional role and will continue to head HR alongside her role on Bindass.
