Yahoo! Mail now available in 8 Indian languages
Yahoo! India has announced the availability of the latest version of Yahoo! Mail in eight new regional languages: Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi and Gujarati. The recently launched new Yahoo! Mail delivers a much faster, safer and easier online communications experience. Addition of new regional languages makes it even more convenient for users from across India to access and use Yahoo! Mail. With a simultaneous roll out in 27 new markets, including 22 new languages and 16 new countries, Yahoo! Mail is now available in 46 new languages and more than 70 markets worldwide.

As per the IMRB report, Internet usage in smaller towns in India continue to spike their dominance over top eight metros with a combined usage of more than 60 per cent, clearly indicating that penetration of the Internet in semi urban areas is on the rise. With the Indian vernacular online audience growing at a rate of nearly 40 per cent per year there is a strong demand for Internet services and content in local languages.
Today, Yahoo! Mail reaches to 42 per cent (ComScore, September 2011) of the Indian Internet audience.
