Zee Learn Ltd, educational arm of Essel Group, lists on BSE, NSE

Zee Learn Ltd, the educational arm of Essel Group, has announced the listing of its equity shares on the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on December 20, 2010. The announcement was made at the NSE in the presence of students of Kidzee, the preschool chain of Zee Learn, as well as students from schools where Zee Learn provides school solutions.

Zee Learn Ltd, the educational arm of Essel Group, has announced the listing of its equity shares on the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on December 20, 2010. The announcement was made at the NSE in the presence of students of Kidzee, the preschool chain of Zee Learn, as well as students from schools where Zee Learn provides school solutions.

Punit Goenka, CEO, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL), along with the students, rang the traditional bell to open the exchange for trade. The listing was announced by Sumeet Mehta, CEO, Zee Learn Ltd, in the presence of other dignitaries, including Goenka.

Speaking on the occasion, Mehta said, “With increasing income levels and awareness, aspirations of Indian parents are rising. More children are starting early, there’s more emphasis on holistic learning than rote learning and vocational streams are becoming as important as traditional degrees. Zee Learn Ltd is at the forefront of this change with its schools, preschools and vocational institutes. We are committed to improving the human capital of India through innovating teaching-learning methods and 21st Century relevant programmes.”

Zee Learn Ltd has a chain of K-12 schools in India – Mount Litera Zee Schools – which follow a proprietary pedagogy called Litera Octave that is based on constructivism and multiple intelligences. There are 65 Mount Litera Zee Schools coming up in the country with 30 operational schools.

For youth, Zee Learn runs Zee Institute of Media and Arts (ZIMA), a TV and film training institute in Mumbai and more than 25 Zee Institute of Creative Arts (ZICA), premier animation institutes centers.
