Zee News honours Indian Security forces with Ananya Samman

Zee News acknowledges military/ para-military personnel for their exemplary acts of courage with Ananya Samman. This is the fifth edition of the awards

Zee News honoured extraordinary heroes from the Indian Security Forces with Ananya Samman Awards at a ceremony held in the Capital on February 26, 2013.

This year, Zee News acknowledged military/ para-military security personnel for their exemplary acts of courage in the service of the nation. These included Lifetime Contribution Award to Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri from the Indian Army. Five others from the Indian Army were also felicitated, including three martyrs – Lance Naik Hemraj Singh, Hawaldar Jaipal Singh Adhikari and Naik Krishna Kumar. The others from the Army were Major Anup Joseph Manjali and Subedar Pradeep Beck. Two bravehearts from the Indian Navy, both martyrs, who were honoured were Lt Commander FD Mogal and Leading Seaman Clearance Driver Umakant Panigrahi. Apart from the Army and Navy, two para-military personnel from ITBP were also honoured – Constables Shiv Prasad and Boop Singh, both martyrs.

Speaking on the occasion, Subhash Chandra, Executive Chairman, Essel Group said, “Zee News thanks all the military, para-military, security forces personnel, their families and guests who came here and shared their valuable time to motivate us in this initiative by us. We are very happy that we have got this opportunity to motivate not only those who received these awards, but also the youth of this country to help in nation building.”

Ananya Samman was first held in 2008 to honour the bravest of the brave from across the country.
