In a strategic move to bolster its business and expand audiences worldwide, the BBC has officially relaunched its North American website, led by Rebecca Glashow, CEO of Global Distribution at BBC Studios. As per reports, this initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen the broadcaster's presence in the U.S. and beyond.

The BBC's relaunch comes at a time when it is facing increased scrutiny and pressure from U.K. regulators regarding public funding. The proposed £500 million budget cut has been deemed "welcome" by the country's prime minister.

BBC Studios is spearheading the transformation, with funds supporting public service journalism and content in the U.K. The studios division took over BBC.com last year, and its global news operation, under the leadership of Deborah Turness, was integrated into BBC Studios.

As per reports, the revamped website, while retaining the BBC.com URL, offers a more personalized experience for international audiences. It features a new internal content management system, improved navigation tools, and enhanced advertising placements for optimized audience engagement.

The digital overhaul is strategically focused on capturing commercial opportunities in the U.S. BBC Studios plans to launch its first-ever brand campaign in the U.S. next year and has introduced a U.S.-optimized podcast, "The Global Story."
