Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC) has tied up with Toon Club for a new course in animation and creativity for kids. The new venture will be co-branded as ‘MAAC Junior-Toon Club’ and is scheduled to be launched in the last week of May.

Commenting on the joint initiative, Ronald D’Mello, Managing Director and CEO, Maya Entertainment, said, “Our relationship with Toon Club is complementing, which has the potential of momentous ramifications. Toon Club’s existing concept viability and curriculum is tried and tested and we are very excited with the possibilities. Nurturing creative and artistic juices at a very young age will result in churning out more creatively evolved talent from our advanced courses ultimately.”

Tehzeeb Khurana, Founder, Toon Club, said, “Our tie-up with MAAC enables us to scale Toon Club at an all India level, possibly beyond, something that we have envisaged all along as the natural next level progression for Toon Club. With this venture, we hope to realise Toon Club’s true potential.”

Shelley Page, Head of International Outreach for DreamWorks Animation and member of Academic Advisory Board, MAAC, said, “I am very impressed with the MAAC Junior initiative envisaged by MAAC in collaboration with Toon Club and I think this will be a really important contribution to the level of artistic awareness among the junior age group throughout India.”

MAAC is the academic and training wing of Maya Entertainment Ltd. It is the computer animation and visual effects studio for film and television in India. Toon Club is an organisation dedicated to teaching the art of animation to children and a pioneer in teaching animation at schools in India.

MAAC also has plans to take Toon Club’s curriculum all over India, and later to the Middle East and Nepal.
