A number of brands have joined forces with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to support the Indian contingent at the upcoming Commonwealth Games in 2022. The 12-day multi-sport event will begin on July 28, 2022 and end on August 8, 2022. IOA has secured over nine sponsors to support the 215-member athlete contingent at CWG 2022 in Birmingham.

While Adani Sportsline is the principal sponsor, JSW Inspire has been signed on as the principal and kitting sponsor. Herbalife Official is the nutrition partner, whereas Manyawar has come on board as the ceremonial kitting partner.

Adidas has been roped in as a performance footwear partner for the game. Meanwhile, Inox and Amul are associate sponsors, while Borosil is the hydration partner and SFA the sports ed-tech partner.

It's important to note that some of these brands have partnered with IOA not only for Commonwealth Games but also for the upcoming Paris Olympic Games 2024 and Asian Games. For instance, Adani Sportsline, the sports arm of the Adani Group, has become an official partner with the IOA for the upcoming Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022, Hangzhou Asian Games 2022, and Paris Olympic Games 2024. This is the second time that the Adani Group has come on board with IOA. The earlier association was in 2021, when the group sponsored the Indian Contingent during the Tokyo Olympics.

However, Adidas is associated with CWG 2022 only.

Similarly, JSW Inspire partnered with IOA for the next cycle of Commonwealth, Asian and Olympic Games. Through the partnership, Team India’s contingents at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, the 2022 Asian Games scheduled to be held in Hangzhou next year and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris will be kitted in JSW Inspire apparel.

The JSW Group too had previously sponsored the Indian contingent ahead of the Tokyo2020 Olympic Games and launched their ‘Rukna Nahi Hai’ campaign in a bid to showcase their support for Team India.

India won a total of 66 medals, including 26 Gold, in last edition of the Games in Gold Coast, Australia four years ago. The Indian squad is traditionally strong in Badminton, Boxing, Hockey, Weightlifting and Wrestling and if recent results are anything to go by they will together put a up a grand show this time too.
