FMCG players, for long the sponsors and facilitators of awards of various hues, will now be competing for awards in their own zone. The FMCG Awards 2004, to be held in New Delhi on May 28, will showcase the best in business. Speaking to exchange4media.com, Senthil K Naidu, Executive Director of AMGF Intercorp Limited, the company that has instituted these awards, said in the run-up to the event nationwide consumer survey and poll have been carried out.

Consumers have given their opinion on various product categories like preferred debutante brand, preferred brand ambassador, etc. The target sample size was 2,00,000 consumers across the country. Three different channels were devised for conducting the survey and poll which included face-to-face interviews, circulation of full page questionnaire in press, and questions on the company’s website. The nationwide poll concluded on May 10 and after tabulation and assessment, the winners would be felicitated, Naidu informed.

Giving information about the organisations participating in the awards, he mentioned Hindustan Lever Limited, Britannia, Rasna, Paras Pharma, Nirma Ltd, Henkel Spic Ltd, Godrej, Ayur, Lebon, Pan Parag, Archies, Ghari Detergent, Everest Masalas among others.

Ernst& Young is the official notary and NFO World Group the official research partner for the awards, Naidu said.
