Zomato appoints Rohithari Rajan as Business Head, Global Ad Sales

Zomato, the online restaurant and search service, has appointed Rohithari Rajan as Business Head, Global Ad Sales. According to reports, Rajan previously worked with Egon Zehnder, heading digital practice in the Asia Pacific region and consumer retail and media practice in India.

He was also part of the international consulting firm, Bain and Company, advising clients in areas of private equity, consumer products, telecom, and industrial goods in organisational and growth strategy, market strategy and business development.

He worked for six years with Hindustan Unilever, where he was instrumental in establishing the Shakti business initiative, which extended Unilever’s rural India reach.

He has also worked with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in New York, where he developed a toolkit for pro-poor business models to deliver development goods to low-income regions and he assisted the UNDP in developing strategy for private sector engagement.

Commenting on Rajan’s appointment Zomato Founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal said, “I worked with Rohit while I was at Bain and I learned a lot from him in my time there. Rohit has played an instrumental role in driving growth at all of the previous organisations he’s been at, and we’re thrilled to leverage his knowledge and experience to strengthen our ad sales business globally”.

Speaking on his new position as Zomato Global Head, Ad Sales Rohithari Rajan said, “Zomato is arguable the most resilient and innovative companies in its space. I’m delighted to be part of Zomato and look forward to working with this team towards our mission of delivering better food to more people across the world”.

Rajan holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and has studied economics from Delhi University.
