At $8bn valuation, BYJU'S raises $200mn from Tiger Global

Home-grown learning start-up BYJU'S has raised $200 million at a valuation of $8 billion in a round by Tiger Global, as per media reports.
This fresh funding will allow BYJU’S to grow into a global brand, reports have said.
The company is said to achieve full-year profitability.
exchange4media reported in December 2019 how BYJU'S has spent Rs 450 crore on advertising in FY19, a 239 per cent rise from Rs 188.5 crore in FY18. The company also increased its net revenue from Rs 490 crore in FY 2017-18 to Rs 1,341 crore with a net profit of Rs 20 crore in FY19.
