China’s smartphone maker BBK has restructured its three Indian brands, OPPO, OnePlus and Realme into independent entities, according to reports.

Parent company of the three mobile brands, BBK has raised concerns of the way the Indian government is taking action against Chinese businesses and is hence looking to ‘de-risk’ its businesses from the effect of such actions. Notably, India is one of the largest markets for the three brands for the Chinese smartphone maker.

India has been tracking down Chinese companies and these businesses are facing constant scrutiny amid pressures from the government.

Reportedly, the sales by the three brands will be accounted for in their own book. BBK has also transferred the sales and distribution operations of OnePlus and Realme to their respective legal entities in India, OnePlus Technology India and Realme Mobile Telecommunication.

OnePlus and Realme are reportedly looking for Indian contract manufacturers.

However, Oppo Mobiles India will continue sales of its own brand, according to the report.
