From rookie to ‘radio expert’ – Robin Thomas

The year 2008 brought me a lot of surprises and, yes, some very valuable lessons too. Little did I know that my first break would come from a B2B daily news portal. I joined exchange4media on March 1, 2008, as an intern, a wide-eyed wonderstruck kid in this vast and exciting world of advertising, media and marketing.

I had joined the organisation even before I my university exams, which were due in April 2008. exchange4media has played a huge role in preparing me for the real world – a world of cutthroat competition.

It has been seven months since I officially joined e4m as a trainee correspondent and have been handling the radio and digital beats, which I find very exciting and fun to write about. It has been a great learning experience for me this year, but there is still so much to do and learn. I look forward to being an expert in the radio beat by the end of 2009. Working on RAM reports has by far been the most exciting one for me, and yes, it is the coverage of the Phase III FM rollout that I am looking forward to the most. There is so much that I want to do in this medium.

This apart, I request all radio industry players to give ‘me’ their feedbacks on the stories that I do and their suggestions as well.
