MIB allocated Rs 4,375.21 crore in Union Budget, higher than revised estimate
Prasar Bharati’s budget has been cut to Rs 370 crore from last financial year but it is still higher than the revised estimate

The government has allocated the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Rs 4,375.21 crore in the Union Budget, as per media reports.
The revised budgetary estimate for the ministry was Rs 4064.76 crore.
On the other hand Prasar Bharati’s budget has been cut to Rs 370 crore from the last financial year’s Rs 473 crore, but it is still higher than the revised estimate.
The allocation is for the Broadcasting Infrastructure Network Development.
As per the allocations, the total information budget has been reduced to Rs 220 crore from last financial year’s Rs 227 crore.
The film sector has received an allocation of Rs 145.50 crore.
