Chandan Mitra all set to leave BJP: Reports
Mitra, considered close to party veteran L K Advani, had been sidelined in the Narendra Modi-Amit Shah leadership, according to media reports.
Chandan Mitra, a two-time Rajya Sabha MP from BJP and the editor of The Pioneer, is all set to leave the party, according to media reports.
Mitra has reportedly submitted his resignation, but it is not yet confirmed if it has been accepted by the party.
Mitra was a nominated member of the Rajya Sabha from August 2003 to 2009. In 2010, BJP got him elected to the upper house from Madhya Pradesh. His term ended in 2016.

In the recent times, Mitra has been critical of the party. He had termed BJP’s defeat in the Kairana bypoll in Uttar Pradesh as a “serious setback”.
