Sambad, the Oriya daily from the Eastern Media Ltd stable, has ramped up its focus on the youth and has launched Yuva Sambad, an 8-page English tabloid, which will be distributed free along with the main city Bhubaneswar edition of the paper every Saturday.

This apart, a one-page daily in English – titled Sambad Plus – has been included in Sambad’s Bhubaneswar city edition from Monday to Friday. Sambad Plus is also dedicated to the young.

The two papers were launched at a ceremony held recently that was attended by Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Editor, Sambad; Monica Nayyar Patnaik, Joint Managing Director, Eastern Media Ltd, Dr KC Satapathy, Principal, DAV Chandrasekharpur; and KK Mohapatra, Chief Operating Officer, Sambad.

Yuva Sambad aims to be a magazine ‘For the Young, By the Young, Of the Young’. It is claimed that Yuva Sambad could be the first free English supplement with an Oriya daily broadsheet. The paper is targeted at students – be it school children or college students.

Articles, achievements, poems, digital inputs with their photographs and so on from the youths would be the mainstay/ reading material in both Yuva Sambad and Sambad Plus.
