The e-Paper of English daily, The Times of India, has reportedly gone behind a paywall on Friday and within hours saw hundreds of people signing up for the service.
According to news reports, the e-paper, which had been free to subscribers in India will now be available for a fee of Rs 199 (plus GST) per month. TimesPrime, which offers a select set of exclusive stories will also be made available to subscribers.
The Times of India e-paper has been available internationally and subscriptions can be availed for $3 per month or $30 per annum.
According to the latest IRS figures, TOI garnered a total readership 1.73 crore.
