Senior journalist Alka Saxena has joined News Express as Managing Editor. Last year, she exited the Zee Media Group. She had also worked with Sahara Samay  where she worked of Lok Sabha Elections.

Saxena has been in the field of journalism for 27 years. She started her career in 1985 as a freelance journalist.

She worked for Sunday Observer, Hindustan, Navbharat Times, Jansatta among others and was associated with print journalism for over nine years. She joined TV journalism in 1995. She was one of the founding members of Aaj Tak where she also worked for six years. She joined Zee News as Editor from 2001 to 2005 after which she was a guest anchor at Janmat Channel (now known as Live India). From 2008 to 2013, Saxena worked as consulting editor at Zee News.

From March 2014 to June 2014, she worked as consultant and guest anchor for Sahara Samay covering the Elections.
