Arun Jaitley to be the new I&B Minister
In the latest cabinet rejig, Prakash Javadekar will continue to look after Environment Ministry while Finance Minister Jaitley has been given the additional responsibility of MIB
As stated by media reports, Narendra Modi led government has reshuffled the cabinet. Arun Jaitley has been divested of Defence but has been given the responsibility of handling I&B Ministry. Jaitley will retain his current portfolio – Finance and Corporate Affairs.
Prakash Javadekar who was earlier the I&B Minister will continue to handle the Environment Ministry.
In other changes made, Manohar Parrikar will take over the Ministry of Defense, Suresh Prabhu who quit Shiv Sena to join BJP will handle Railways which was earlier being handled by DV Sadananda Gowda, who will now take charge of Law and Justice. Harsh Vardhan who was looking after Health and Family Welfare will now take charge of Science & Technology, Earth Sciences.
Rajnath Singh retains Home Ministry and Sushma Swaraj retains the External Affairs portfolio.
