BARC Week 38: SET becomes most-watched channel in the urban market

Kaun Banega Crorepati 11 and Superstar Singer Singing Ka Kal put Sony Entertainment Television on the top spot

‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 11’ and ‘Superstar Singer Singing Ka Kal’ propelled Sony Entertainment Television to the top as the most-watched channel in the urban market with 520598 impressions.

Both these shows have managed to have a consistent space in the Top five programs in the Hindi General Entertainment Category genre. Star Plus, which has been the numero Uno in this market for several weeks now, has slipped down to the second position with 471067 impressions.

Sony SAB is on the third place in the Hindi GEC urban market with 430135 impressions followed by Zee TV with 381340 impressions. Colors takes the fifth spot with 355628 impressions. While Zee’s ‘Kundali Bhagya’ takes the first spot, Star Plus’ ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ takes the second followed by ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 11’, ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ and ‘Kumkum Bhagya’.

In the rural market, while Zee Anmol moved out of the list, Star Utsav moved in and SET and Sony SAB swapped places. Rest of the order remained the same as week 37. As for top five programs, Dangal’s shows take the first four spots with only Zee’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ securing the fifth position.

In terms of top 10 channels across genre, Dangal keeps its first position intact with 1039509 impressions. Star Plus and Star Maa swapped places and so did Zee TV and SET with the latter moving up the ladder by one step. B4U Kadak slips down to number 10 from number 8.
