Channel 7 unveils its anthem “Karna Hai to Karna Hai”
Recently relaunched Hindi news channel Channel 7 is introducing a new anthem – “Karna Hai to Karna Hai” – from June 28, 2006 to promote the channel, underlining the channel’s positioning statement ‘Khabar Har Keemat Par’.

The song has been composed by well-known music directors Vishal and Shekhar of ‘Salaam Namaste’ fame. While Vishal has lent vocal chords, the lyrics have been penned by the creative team of Brand David.
Elaborating on the initiative, Ashutosh, Channel 7’s Managing Editor, said, “The spirit of the anthem is encouraging and inspiring and gives the editorial team the impetus to achieve their goals under any circumstance. The lyrics epitomise the essence of newsgathering and the commitment of a news reporter, whose job demands him to be anywhere, anytime sourcing and reporting news from ground zero across the globe.”
Sharing his views on the launch of the anthem, Dilip Venkatraman, Director Marketing, said, “The song is a multi-media rendition of the belief of Channel 7. It is meant for communicating our conviction internally and also externally to send across our brand message.” Venkatraman further informed that the anthem would be used across the television network to promote Channel 7.
Global Broadcast News, a TV18 venture with Rajdeep Sardesai and Sameer Manchanda, bought into the Jagran TV venture in February 2006 and acquired complete editorial and distribution control of Channel 7. Subsequently, the channel has been relaunched with complete editorial and content revamp.
