The final match of ICC Women’s World Cup between India and England clinched the Top 5 programmes in sports category garnering 5.9 mn impressions on Star Sports 1 Hindi
Star Sports owned BARC’s sport ratings with all its properties featured in the Top 5 programmes for Week 30 (July 22–28). The final match of ICC Women’s World Cup between India and England topped the list registering 5.9 million impressions on Star Sports 1 Hindi. Incidentally, the same event on Star Sports 2 ranked second garnering 5.3 million impressions.
On July 26, we reported that Star Sports 2 and Star Sports 2 HD have been speculated to earn Rs 3 crore collectively in advertising revenue from the ICC Women’s World Cup, out of which Rs 2 crore has come from the final (India vs. England on July 23) itself, according to industry sources.
Meanwhile, the first match between Pro Kabaddi League season 5 between Telugu Titans and Tamil Thalaivas on Star Sports First at 8 pm stood third recording 4.4 million impressions. It was followed by the second match between U Mumba and Puneri Paltan from the same tournament at 9 pm on Star Sports 1 Hindi which fetched 3.7 million impressions. The first match on Star Sports 1 Hindi came fifth with 3.5 million impressions.
It’s also to be noted that Star Sports First (India’s first free-to-air private sports channel) topped the sports category for the same week with 148 million impressions.
According to the data provided by the channel, the opening day of Season 5 of VIVO Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) has registered a cumulative reach of over 50 million impressions, registering a jump of around 59% over the inaugural day of Season 4.
