INX News appoints Karan Thapar’s company ITV as Editorial Advisor to NewsX

INX News’ hunt for an Editor-in-Chief for the channel has come to an end with the organisation signing up Karan Thapar’s company ITV as Editorial Advisor to its soon-to-be-launched English news channel NewsX. The advisory services would comprise a review of progress till date and consultancy on future editorial development.

INX News has almost solved the problems that it has been facing in finding an editorial head for the company by signing up Karan Thapar’s company ITV (Infotainment Television Pvt Ltd) as Editorial Advisor to its soon-to-be-launched English news channel NewsX. The advisory services would a review of progress till date and consultancy on future editorial development of the channel.

The dry run for the news channel has already begun and INX News sources believe that the channel would be able to meet the stipulated March deadline for launch of the channel. Indrani Mukerjea, Chairperson, INX News, said, “With the expertise of the editorial and operations team at NewsX, we are ready to provide the highest quality of intelligent news for today’s audience.”

On Thapar’s expertise now coming to the table for the channel’s content, Arup Ghosh, the recently appointed Head of Newsroom, said, “I am very pleased that Karan’s ITV has come on board as Editorial Advisor to NewsX. With its vast experience and unmatched reputation, I am sure ITV will contribute immensely to our vision of a world class news channel for NewsX.”

Established in 2001, ITV has done work for the BBC, Channel News Asia, CNBC TV18, CNN-IBN and Doordarshan, among other channels.
