Kannada news channels see unprecedented growth with Modi's 'Parivartan' rally: BARC Week 6
Kannada News witnessed the highest viewership this week and recorded 418 per cent growth. The news channel grew from 4,197 million impressions in week 4 to 17,525 million impressions in Week 6
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bengaluru Parivartan rally brought a lot of viewers for the Kannada news channels in Week 6 according to the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India viewership data.
According to BARC, Kannada news channel witnessed a good spike in viewership on Sunday (Time Band:1500-1900) in Karnataka 2+ market.
Kannada News witnessed the highest viewership in this week and recorded 418 per cent growth. The news channel grew from 4,197 million impressions in week 4 to 17,525 million impressions in Week 6.
On the other hand, TV9 Kannada recorded 397 per cent growth. The channel grew from 1,267 million impressions to 5,027 million impressions. Public TV witnessed 710 per cent growth and achieved 4,901 million impressions from 690 million impressions from last week.
Suvarna News 24x7 bagged 2,629 million impressions from 537 mn impressions the previous week. The channel saw 489 per cent growth from last week. News 18 Kannada grew by 430 per cent. The channel saw a rise from 370 million impressions to 1,590 million impressions in the current week.
Dighvijay 24x7 news recorded 462 per cent growth with 1,004 million impressions in Week 6, up from 217 million impressions last week.
