NP Nawani, who’s contract with the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) ends on September 30, 2010, has decided not to carry on further and has tended his resignation. He has had a seven-year innings with the Foundation.
Citing the reasons for his decision to quit, Nawani said that he would now devote more vigorously to pursuing ‘other things’. An immediate plan is to publish the second edition of his book ‘District Administration: Theory and Practice’, which was so liked by former President Dr APJ Kalam that he invited Nawani and his family to share a moment with him.
He would be also paying more frequent visits to six interior villages in Tehri district of Uttarakhand, where a micro-hydel power station and cottage industries are being set up with funds given by the Ministry of New and Renewable Power/ UNDP. Recently, Nawani had also been sounded for being a member of the State Police Board of Uttarakhand.
Nawani is a former Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.
