When PM Modi talks, the country listens. India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first interview of 2018 was aired on Zee News on January 19, 2018. His prime time interview on Zee News with editor-in-chief Sudhir Chaudhary garnered huge eyeballs leading to a spike in viewership for the channel in Week 3 of BARC data.
The hour long interview garnered 2,838 impressions (000s) in Week 3 from 1,315 Impressions (000s) in Week 2, according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) all India data.
In Week 3, Aaj Tak took the first spot with 1,09,904 Impressions (000s) in overall market. Whereas, Zee News maintained its second position with 1,03,302 Impressions (000s) and India TV stood at number three with 87,246 Impressions (000s.)
In Hindi news rural market, Aaj Tak continued to dominate with 47,894 Impressions (000s) whereas Zee News bagged the second spot in the week with 43,977 Impressions (000s.) News Nation stood at number three with 36,871 Impressions (000s.) In urban market, the ranking remains the same. Aaj Tak grabbed the first slot with 62,010 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee News in the second spot with 59,325 Impressions (000s.) India TV stood at number three with 52,733 Impressions (000s.)
Modi's interview on Zee News spiked the viewership for the channel. It'll be interesting to see how Times Now's viewership fares in BARC data after PM Modi's interview on January 21, 2018.
