Discovery Channel's ‘Man Vs Wild' episode with Bear Grylls and PM Modi, which was aired on August 12, has helped the channel achieve an all-time high viewership since Week 8 of 2017, as per BARC data.
The original airing of the episode recorded 6.9 million impressions and 400 million viewing minutes. A total of 18.4 million unique viewers tuned in to watch the episode across the country. Discovery Channel was at the 4th position across all channels or genres on August 12 during the time-slot of 2100-2200 hours.
On Week 33, the channel’s average weekly impressions was 65.2 million, an 88 per cent growth over the average of the previous 4 weeks.
The channel has achieved the highest slot viewership (on active channels) with 3.69 million impressions, as per BARC data. In the infotainment genre, the show’s premiere delivered 15.6 million tune-ins. The premiere of the show on Discovery Channel has emerged as the highest-ever rated show in the history of the infotainment genre in India with 6.9 million impressions.
