STAR News is seeking to wrap up 24 all important news stories of the day in just 30 minutes in a rapid-fire format. ‘24 Ghante, 24 Reporter’, the new news bulletin on STAR News, premiers on June 26 and will be on air Monday-Friday at 10 pm.
This news bulletin will be entirely led by the reporter directly from the location. The programme will comprise various segments to provide a theme-based delivery of news – Sabse Bari Khabar, Desh, Shahar, Gunah, Duniya, Khel, Karobar, Cinema and TV.
With the launch of 24 Ghante, 24 Reporter, the popular metro specific news bulletin – City 60 – will be pushed to 10.30 pm from June 26.
STAR News is also chronicling 15 years of liberalisation in India through a special series titled ‘Roti Kapda aur Mobile’. The series captures India’s emergence as a vibrant, free-market democracy capable of flexing its muscles in the global economy – a dynamic story first set in motion with the swearing-in of the Narasimha Rao government at the Centre on June 21, 1991.
The series will focus on the transformation that is unfolding everyday in the cities and towns of India – mills of the old economy making way for the malls of the new era. The on-ground ‘travelogue’ series walks through the cities and towns of India to establish the quiet struggle of a billion people for prosperity and dignity. Going beyond the much-trumpeted economic aspect, the series will focus on the sociological impact on changing lifestyles over the last decade and a half and seek to bring out a human story unique to this impact.
‘Roti Kapda aur Mobile’ features on Desh Videsh from Monday-Friday at 5 pm, with repeats at 6.45 am and 12.45 pm on STAR Savera and Khabar Din Bhar, respectively.
