Sony’s long running show ‘CID’ to be in Bangla too
‘CID Kolkata Bureau’ is launching on Sony’s Bangla entertainment channel Aath with its own batch of officers and a dash of local flavour
Sony Entertainment Television’s long running crime fiction show, ‘CID’, is all geared to go regional, with ‘CID Kolkata Bureau’ launching on Sony’s Bangla entertainment channel Aath.
Commenting on the venture, NP Singh, COO, Multi Screen Media, said, “‘CID’ has been our flagship show and has played a pivotal role in the history of Indian television. With its successful innings of entertaining viewers for 15 years, the show will cross yet another landmark as it becomes the first ever fiction show on Indian television to go regional with a brand new bureau in Kolkata.”
The brand new series in Bangla will have its own batch of officers and stories influenced by the local culture of Bengal. ‘CID Kolkata Bureau’ will be produced by Fireworks Productions, the producers of ‘CID’.
Tushar Shah, Senior Vice President, Multi Screen Media, added here, “Some of the best actors and directors have been chosen to bring this action-filled crime drama in Bengali. With local flavour and state-of-the-art production quality, we are confident that viewers will enjoy watching ‘CID Kolkata Bureau’ on Aath.”
BP Singh of Fireworks Productions informed that the stories are being written by five writers from Kolkata.
