Supreme Court reserves verdict in Prasar Bharti, WC issue
The Supreme Court deferred a decision on the ongoing issue of Prasar Bharati and the sharing of live feed of World Cup matches
News has come in that the apex court has reserved the verdict on Prasar Bharti's plea against the Delhi High Court order barring Doordarshan from sharing live feed of World Cup matches with private cable operators. CK Jain, Dy Director General (IR & IMD) at Prasar Bharti confirmed the news to exchange4media. He said that a new date has not been set yet by the court.
SC extends judgement on DD telecasting World Cup matches to Feb 19
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court had asked Prasar Bharti on the feasibility of starting a new channel to exclusively telecast World Cup matches. Media sources report that the broadcaster said that it would be unable to do so. The court had deferred the verdict till today.
