As per the latest news articles, Reliance is expected to own 61 per cent of the merged entity. While Disney will have 33 per cent ownership, 6 per cent will be with Bodhi Tree Systems.
We reported a few weeks earlier that the deal is set to be sealed this month. The two media giants - Disney and Viacom 18 - signed a non-binding pact in December last year.
Insiders had shared with e4m towards the end of 2023 that the valuation and due diligence of the merger could commence anytime with regulatory approvals to be completed by February 2024.
The timing of the merger announcement is key considering the upcoming IPL 2024.
