Whatever Sony is today is because of NP Singh: Rohit Gupta
Sony was like a family for NP Singh, said Rohit Gupta, who is former Advisor to the Management and Board of Sony Pictures Networks India
Whatever Sony is today is because of NP Singh, said Rohit Gupta, former Advisor to the Management and Board of Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) who spent 20 years in the organisation before retiring in 2022.
“NP and I worked together for 20 years. We had a wonderful relationship. It was the best part to have him there and it kept us going. He built a world-class organisation over the years.
“He has been absolutely focused on profitability. It was like a family for him. He knew every employee by their first name, even when we grew bigger from 100 to 1000 people. He is an incredible soul. Whatever Sony is today is because of him,” Gupta told exchange4media.
His response comes as NP Singh on Friday announced that he has decided to move on from his role as MD and CEO of SPNI and that he was ready to shift from operational roles to advisory ones.
However, Singh will continue to lead SPNI till the right person is found to take over.
“I will continue to lead SPNI until we find the right person to take over. We have begun a structured succession planning process for my successor and hope to have exciting news to share in the near future. Finding the right fit is our top priority,” he said in his letter.
