Chobbees Ghanta, the dedicated Bengali news channel managed by Zee Akash, an independent company set up by Zee News Pvt Ltd and Akash Bangla, will officially go on air on March 26. This was confirmed by reliable sources from the company. The dry run begins on March 22.
The channel is obviously eyeing to win its spurs in the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections and has, therefore, preponed its launch date. With the launch of Chobbees Ghanta and Suman Chattopadhyay’s Kolkata TV (which will be launched on March 27), and with STAR Ananda, which has been on air for almost a year now, the Bengali news domain is in for some action-packed time.
