Britannia Industries has appointed former Reserve Bank of India governor Urjit Patel to the company's board. The company has shared the information in a BSE filing.
The decision was made during the board meeting held on 2nd July 2024.
“This is to inform you that based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors of the Company at their Meeting held today, 2nd July, 2024, approved the appointment of Dr. Urjit Patel (DIN:00175210) and Mr. Sunil Siddharth Lalbhai (DIN:00045590) as Additional Non-Executive Independent Directors of the Company for a term of 5 (five) consecutive years,” the company told BSE.
The appointments are subject to the approval of the Members at the ensuing Annual General Meeting of the Company scheduled to be held on Monday, 12th August, 2024, it said further.
