IPG Mediabrands’ Chief Growth Officer at India, Anamika Mehta, has moved on amid an ongoing restructuring triggered by Omnicom Group’s acquisition of the Interpublic Group, sources privy to the development have told exchange4media.
She exited the company early this month. Her next professional move could not be immediately ascertained.
Mehta is the first senior leader in India to exit the IPG group following the Omnicom acquisition. Her departure marks the exit of one of the most senior and long-serving leaders within the IPG ecosystem in India.
e4m reached out to Mehta and Omnicom group for their comments. Their response was awaited till the time of writing these lines.
Widely regarded as a key pillar of the group’s leadership bench, Mehta was at one point considered next only to Shashi Sinha in the organisational hierarchy. e4m has earlier reported that Shashi Sinha, who led IPG Mediabrands since its inception, has been given an advisory role in Omnicom Media.
An IPG loyalist, Mehta had been with the group for the last three decades, starting from Lintas and switching over to UM Lodestar and Initiative. She served as CEO of Initiative and as Chief Operating Officer at Lodestar. Mehta was with Mediabrands since its formal entry into India in 2012 and played a central role in building and scaling the group’s media operations.
e4m had reported on December 11 that Eileen Kiernan, Global CEO of IPG Mediabrands, had stepped down. Days later, Richard Morris, Chief Executive for the UK and EMEA at IPG Mediabrands, also moved on—signalling the beginning of a broader leadership churn across the network as the integration process gathers pace.
