Shiva Krishnamurthy has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of General Mills India. The business leader brings 25 years of experience at Unilever and most recently served as Executive Director, Foods & Refreshment, at Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL).
Krishnamurthy shared news of his latest career move on LinkedIn. He wrote: “I am delighted to join the General Mills mission of “Making food the world loves” with iconic brands, leading edge food science and capable people. Powered by a culture that fosters learning, growing and belonging, we are well placed to address the India opportunity. I look forward to building on the foundation that has been laid by my predecessors.”
Krishnamurthy joined HUL in 2000 and, over a career spanning more than two decades, built deep expertise in marketing. He began his career at HUL as an Area Sales Manager for Detergents in West Bengal, a role he held for nearly four years. He subsequently moved through several senior leadership positions and, in 2015, was elevated to Vice President, Foods and Beverages, South Asia, a role he held for over nine years.
