Universal Music India (UMI), a division of Universal Music Group (UMG), has entered into a strategic partnership with Maddock Films and its newly launched music label, Mad For Mussic, founded by Dinesh Vijan. Under the agreement, UMI will serve as Mad For Mussic’s global strategic partner for upcoming film soundtracks and related ventures.
The partnership marks UMI’s continued focus on the Indian film music sector, the largest segment of the country’s music industry. Through UMG’s international network, Mad For Mussic’s catalogue will gain increased exposure to global markets.
Maddock Films has produced a range of Hindi-language films over the past two decades. The company is known for developing the horror-comedy genre, with titles such as Stree, Bhediya, Munjya, and the upcoming Thama. Music plays a central role in Maddock’s productions, with recent tracks such as Pardesiya from Param Sundari achieving strong performance across social and streaming platforms.
UMI has previously worked on the music of Hindi films including Sholay, Deewar, Dostana, Yaarana, Julie, Saagar, Shaan, Blackmail, Khamoshi, Bombay, Devdas, and Sur.
