Johnson & Johnson raises ADHD awareness through 'All Minds Matter' campaign
The digital campaign was launched in October 2023 with a short film featuring three people's lives
In today's fast-paced world, many individuals fight the silent battle of self-doubt, forgetfulness, restlessness, and distraction, often crediting these challenges as personal shortcomings. However, these issues may be symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), which is impacting approximately 0.4% of India's population, equivalent to over 5 million people.
The Janssen India has further expanded the scope of their 'All Minds Matter' campaign from Schizophrenia to shed light on ADHD warriors. With a rich history spanning 70 years, Johnson & Johnson aims to leverage its innovative ideas, products, and services to enhance the well-being of India.
The 'All Minds Matter' digital campaign was launched in October 2023 with a short film featuring three people's lives, how they question their every action and struggle to contemplate their symptoms. It also highlights ADHD as a neurodevelopmental disorder, persisting from adulthood to teenagers, with symptoms varying across age groups and genders.
To widen the influence of ‘All Minds Matter’ campaign, they leveraged various digital formats such as informative videos, engaging social media content, and a dedicated website. Furthermore, they have emphasized on an important message, "It's not you; it could be ADHD" to foster a culture of empathy and support.
“According to several studies, globally, fewer than 20% of adults with ADHD are aware of their condition. In India, approximately 14% of the population is known to be grappling with ADHD.”
Through this initiative, they aim to dispel stigmas and misconceptions associated with ADHD, educating the masses about the potential consequences of untreated ADHD, such as compulsive eating, substance abuse, anxiety, chronic stress, tension, and low self-esteem and encouraging more people to seek the professional assistance to foster a positive mental health landscape for ADHD warriors.
"We are committed to fostering a society where mental health is accepted, understood, and supported, regardless of the specific condition. Extending our campaign to encompass ADHD is a natural evolution of our ongoing mission to eliminate stigma, raise awareness, and enhance the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges," said Dr Jitendra Dixit, Head of Medical Affairs, Janssen India.
