Ten PR and corporate communications professionals have been inducted into the ‘Hall of Fame in PR’ during the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) Awards function at the 7th Global Communication Conclave in Hyderabad recently.
The ‘PRCI Hall of Fame’ recognises PR professionals with exceptional records and those who have contributed to the development of the profession.
The ten awardees this year are:
Alok Awasthi, a PR professional associated with publicity for Madhya Pradesh Government for 25 years before being inducted into the Indian Administrative Service
Dr C Mahonar, Executive Vice-President & Director-Operations, i-Nurture Education Solutions and Hon. Director – Strategy & Dean, International School of Business and Research
Rakesh Gulati, Director, Centum Advertising & Marketing
Abhijit Sarkar, Head, Corporate Communications, Sahara India Pariwar and Director (Operations) – Sahara Adventure Sports
Ramkishore M Mankekar, who had held senior positions with GMR and UB Groups
Sharad Goel, Senior Vice President – Corporate Communications, Reliance Capital
Reema Kundnani, Vice-President, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Oberoi Realty
Promila Parothi, GM (Corporate Public Relations & Culture), India Tourism Development Corporation
SN Surkund, Faculty at training colleges of various banks, educational institutions
Rajyogi BK Mruthyunjaya, Executive Secretary, Brahma Kumaris
The awards were given away by Housing Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Prof Sunaina Singh, Vice-Chancellor, The English and Foreign Languages University.
It may be recalled that Abhijit Sarkar was conferred with the Communicator of the Year Award at exchange4media’s Indian PR & Corporate Communications Conference and Awards in 2011. In addition to this, in 2011 he also won the Most Dynamic Corporate Communications Professional of the Year Award at the Powerbrands Hall of Fame Awards in London. Sarkar is also the winner of Indy’s Excellence Award in 2008.
