In a significant development, Reliance Communication has decided to realign its media duties. Since August 2010, the account was divided between MEC India and OMD India. RCOM has now appointed MEC as the agency for all RCOM businesses. OMD will now manage the corporate media mandate for Reliance Group.

The development is effective March 2012.

As is known, the business is pegged in the vicinity of Rs 150 crore.

Confirming the development, Sanjay Behl, Group Head, Brand & Marketing Reliance said, “Reliance Communications has decided to re-allocate media services between its agency partners. As per the new arrangement, MEC, a GroupM company, will service media requirements of RCOM businesses, while Omnicom Media (OMD) will manage the corporate media mandate for Reliance Group.”
