In the midst of India's celebratory fortnight, between November 1 and 15, we got to see some stellar ad campaigns. Diwali was in full swing and India's epic performance at the World Cup semi-finals against New Zealand was just the cherry on top.

This festive season and coinciding World Cup tournament got brands to crank out some of the most creative spots. Here are some of the best ones we saw this fortnight.

Amaze

Festive times usually bring families together, but can sometimes also cause old resentments and disagreements to surface. Amaze launched a short film centred on the theme of family and reconciliation. It also shines a light on modern father-son relationships and the willingness to right wrongs.

Dhara

The cooking oil's festive campaign was centred on how society is comfortable with downplaying the efforts of women, especially during festivals like Diwali where women do a disproportionately more amount of chores but never get recognised for it.

John Jacobs Eyewear

This aesthetically done ad stirs raw emotions, laying bare the most human side of things. Staying true to its eyewear range, the brand centred its messaging around "staying seen." The ad offers an almost voyeuristic look into our vulnerabilities, using fashion as a pivot. The brand aims to spark discourse around the modern-day human experience with this powerful ad.

Make My Trip

Make My Trip bet on the dynamic Rocky aur Rani combo of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and their terrific chemistry for its latest campaign. The two star as discount-seeking prudent travellers who want a bang for their buck.

Savlon

Savlon Swasth India Mission roped in the kids of The Dharavi Dream Project and popular rap artist Emiway Bantai to drive home the importance of handwashing. The ‘Haath Dhona Cool Hai’ - anthem taps into hip-hop culture to encourage hand hygiene amongst young India.
