FMCG giant Hindustan Unilever has posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 2,508 crore for the quarter ended 31 December, 2023.

There was an increase of 1 per cent from Rs 2,481 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year. This was a 5.6 per cent fall in profit sequentially from Rs 2,657 crore in the previous quarter.

The company also reported a consolidated Rs 417 crore jump in its advertising and promotional expenses in the December quarter of FY’24, as compared to the December quarter of FY’23. While the company spent Rs 1,626 crore as ad spends in Q3 FY '24, it was Rs 1,209 crore for the same quarter last FY.

However, this was a Rs 116-crore decline in ad spends when compared to Q2 FY ’24.

Total sales stood at Rs 15,294 crore, marginally lower than Q3 FY ’23, when the total sales was Rs 15,343 crore.

The revenue for the home care segment for Q3 FY ’24 was Rs 5,444 crore, while in Q3 FY ’23 it was Rs 5,514 crore, registering a drop of Rs 70 crore this year.

The beauty and personal care segment saw a Rs 18-crore jump in revenue in Q3 FY24 as compared to the same quarter in the previous year, and the Food & Refreshments segment posted a Rs 33-crore jump in revenue.
