WPP CEO Mark Read has been awarded the Commander of the Order for his services to the creative industries
WPP CEO Mark Read has been awarded the Commander of the Order as per the King’s New Year Honours list for his services to the creative industries.
WPP shared a post congratulating Mark Read on LinkedIn. On his recognition, the WPP chief commented: “I am delighted and proud to have received this honour. The creative industries and the many thousands of amazing people who work within them – not least those at WPP – are such an important part of British life, with a huge impact on both our culture and economy. It’s wonderful to see that contribution recognised.”
The CBE is a “conspicuous leading role in regional affairs” achieved through service to the community or by being a highly distinguished and innovative contributor in his or her field.
The titles are won through nomination. Names of those who have been extraordinary, going above and beyond their role for the betterment of others can be recommended for the honour.
The nominees are then vetted by various government departments to check whether they are deserving of the honour.
