Times Group’s Celebrity Entertainment Channel Zoom set for 3rd quarter début. Hires Lemon
The Times Group has confirmed the launch of its first ever satellite television channel - Zoom. According to Apurva Purohit, COO, Times Television, Zoom is going to be a premium Hindi entertainment channel with non-fiction and celebrity-based content. The channel will be launched in the third quarter of this year.”
Rs 30-cr HSBC account moves to MindShare & Contract
Following the global shift in advertising agency partner, HSBC's Indian operations have decided to award the media business to MindShare while Contract will handle creative duties. Official spokesperson at HSBC India confirmed the devolopment. The account size is estimated to be in the region of Rs 30 crores.

Broadcasters and advertisers have once again crossed swords on the issue of the eight per cent service tax levied on advertisements broadcast on television channels. The Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) is writing to its members asking them to collect the service tax in addition to the total amount payable by the advertisers.

Private FM players start paying up licence fee dues
Private FM radio licencees in the metros have started paying up their licence fee dues, for a period of four months, to the government. Last month, the Telecom Disputes Settlement Appellate Authority (TDSAT) had ordered private FM radio players to pay up their licence fees for four months (April 29 to August 29). So far, two, out of the 14 stations, have paid up.
