The Pencil winners would be announced at the One Show Awards ceremony on May 6 in New York. The One Show Festival 2009 is currently underway in New York City and will conclude on May 8.

The 2009 One Show Design Awards, the international design competition honouring the year’s best in print design, environmental design, corporate identity, publication design, and package design have been announced. Six agencies from India have bagged the One Show Pencil – O&M (1 Gold, 1 Silver); Dizzy Design (1 Gold, 1 Silver); Leo Burnett (1 Silver), and Kritik/Chennai (1 bronze).

Slowdown notwithstanding, Marathi daily Pudhari continues to expand its footprint across Maharashtra. The paper is launching its 11th edition, this time in Mumbai, on May 7. Priced at Rs 1.50, Pudhari is targeting a print run of more than 2 lakh copies on the first day. Mumbai launch will be followed by Aurangabad, Nasik and Nagpur shortly.

Spice Group has appointed Madison Media Group as its media AOR. The AOR will be handled through its unit, Platinum Media, headed by Basabdatta Chowdhury. No pitch call preceded the win. Size of the business is in the region of Rs 25-30 crore. Platinum Media will replace Mudra Max as the Group’s media agency, while the creative duties continue to be handled by Contract Advertising.
