Varinder Walia has been made the Editor of Punjabi Tribune, the language publication from Tribune Trust. He takes charge from August 15. Walia, who has been Special Correspondent in Amritsar for The Tribune, replaces Sidhu Damdami, the outgoing Editor who completed his three-year term with the daily on July 31.

In possibly one of the largest of its kind re-branding exercises, all 38 FM stations operating under the SFM brand have now be rebranded as Red FM. The Government on August 11 has given its approval to Rajat Sharma’s next 24-hour news channel, India TV Wiz. The approval means that Sharma’s Independent News Service (INS) can now launch this premium news channel, which will be in both Hindi and English languages. The channel is expected to launch in six months’ time.

This is the highest ratings for a non-fiction show in the last two years. The overall score of the channel, NDTV Imagine, in the week stood at 141 GRPs, keeping it in the No. 4 position amongst Hindi GECs.
