Amazon Prime has increased the prices of its monthly and quarterly subscriptions in India. The monthly subscription cost has gone up from Rs 179 to Rs 299. The three-month subscription cost has been increased to Rs 599. There have been no changes in the annual subscription, which still costs Rs 1,499.
The monthly Prime subscription for first-time users is, however, still available for free. These users will have to bear the new prices from the second month onwards.
The change in subscription fee follows the company’s recent launch of an affordable Prime Light membership for Rs 999 per year. This plan offers Prime Video streaming in SD quality on up to two devices, as well as free two-day delivery.
