LinkedIn gets aggressive in India; appoints Hari V. Krishnan as Country Manager
LinkedIn is accentuating its focus in India. A significant step in that direction is the appointment of Hari V Krishnan as the Country Manager. Krishnan, who prior to this was with My Space, is given the responsibility to grow the LinkedIn’s business model that comprises user subscriptions, ad sales and enterprise software licensing for the Indian market.
LinkedIn, one of the world’s largest professional network with more than 52 million members globally and 3.4 million members in India, is further honing its attention in India. A significant step in that direction is the appointment of Hari V Krishnan as the Country Manager. Prior to this, Krishnan was with My Space India.
Krishnan’s long-term responsibility would be to grow LinkedIn’s diverse business model that comprises user subscriptions, advertising sales and enterprise software licensing for the Indian market. This will also include a focus on user engagement, strategic partnerships, marketing and general operations.
Krishnan could not be reached at the time of filing the report. In an official statement, Jeff Weiner, Chief Executive Officer LinkedIn, said, “India is one of our fastest growing and most exciting opportunities. Krishnan’s addition to the LinkedIn team will not only help us better serve our membership and customers on a local basis, but will also help accelerate our goal to connect the world’s professionals.”
Prior to joining LinkedIn, Krishnan was the Country Head for MySpace in India where he helped drive user growth and managed overall operations. In his more than 10 years of industry experience he also served in leadership positions at Travelguru, Yahoo! India and Cisco.
