MHA receives complaint against 34 illegal gaming apps from e-gaming federation
Reports suggest that MeitY would soon take action against these offshore gaming platforms
The E-Gaming Federation (EGF), an association of Real Money Gaming (RMG) players, has provided the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) information about 34 unlawful gaming and betting businesses currently operating in India, according to media reports.
The reports suggest that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) would soon take action against these offshore gaming platforms.
The IP addresses utilized for these commercial operations, contacts, and business addresses of gambling and betting organizations were among the vital details that the EGF representatives discussed with senior MHA officials during their meeting.
In December last year, the Centre prohibited a total of 581 apps, of which 174 were for betting and gaming and 87 were for loan. Mahadev, Parimatch, Fairplay, 1XBET, Lotus365, Dafabet, and Betwaysatt were among those apps that were prohibited.
